Auxerre - Bordeaux
There ought to be fireworks as two of this season's early form sides clash at the Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps.

Ricardo's Bordeaux will be keen to preserve their 100% record after seeing off Nancy 1-0 last weekend, and spirits are high in the Girondins camp. Vladimir Smicer has returned to training after being forced off with a knock in the first-half of the Nancy game, but striker Jean-Claude Darcheville is a doubt as he recovers from a thigh injury.

Auxerre have injury problems of their own, having added Bakari Sagna and Younes Kaboul to their treatment list during their excellent 2-0 victory away to Monaco on Saturday. Both suffered knee injuries and France U-19 skipper Kaboul is expected to be sidelined for up to six months.
.............
Le Mans - Rennes
Newly-promoted Le Mans will be hoping to make the most of Rennes' awful away form to record their first win of the season.

Frédéric Hantz's side picked up a useful goalless draw away to Metz last weekend after losing 2-1 to champions Lyon on the opening day, and they will be eager to register a few more points as the table begins to take shape.

They ought to be wary of a fierce reaction from their opponents, however, as Laszlo Boloni's Brittany outfit will be desperate to lift themselves off the bottom of the standings. Two straight defeats have been a shock to the system for the UEFA Cup contenders, and it will be fascinating to see how they react to last week's humiliating 3-0 home loss to local rivals Nantes.

Having managed just two away successes in 2004-05, though, they will need striker Alexander Frei to recover the form that has so far eluded him this term
.........
Lille - Troyes

Lille may have finished last season as runners-up, but Ligue 1 new boys Troyes will have been encouraged to see their normally-reliable defence ship three goals against Ajaccio last time out.

A late strike from Mathieu Debuchy earned Claude Puel's men an unlikely draw, suggesting that their combative spirit is still there, but problems have crept in at the back and the visitors will be hoping that Sébastien Grax and Gaël Danic can take advantage.

Troyes remain unbeaten after picking up draws against Nice and Saint-Etienne, however Lille will be looking for another home win to go with their opening day success over Rennes. Jean Makoun hit the winner in that game, and the Cameroonian midfielder seems to be on fire at the moment after also finding the target against Ajaccio.
.............
Marseille - Lyon
Equal bottom of Ligue 1, Marseille welcome champions Lyon to the Stade Vélodrome on Sunday knowing another loss will plunge their season into crisis.

Marseille fans have excused their side’s disastrous start to the Ligue 1 season thanks to their qualification to the Intertoto Cup Final against Deportivo La Coruna. But for how much longer? Rooted to the bottom of the table after consecutive 2-0 defeats, Coach Jean Fernandez was quick to point the finger at his five-man defence.

The club tried to sign out-of-favour Celtic Glasgow stopper Dianbobo Baldé during midweek, however the Guinean international snubbed the offer.

The return of suspended captain Frédéric Dehu to the heart of the defence should help matters but it’s at the other end of the field where Marseille will hope to shine.

Summer signing Mamadou Niang has impressed in the Intertoto campaign and Sunday’s match will be his first League outing since after being suspended for the two opening games. Two other new faces missed the Lens debacle – Wilson Oruma (suspended) and Franck Ribéry (sore throat) – and, on their day, both are capable of creating problems for the champions.

Lyon may be sitting on top of the table after two single goals victories over Le Mans (2-1) and Strasbourg (1-0), but the side is little more than a pale imitation of the one which charged relentlessly to last season’s crown.

President Jean-Michel Aulas has perhaps finally drawn a close to the long-running Michael Essien saga – stating once and for all that the Ghanaian will remain at Lyon.

The timing of that decision couldn’t have been better for Coach Gérard Houllier after it was revealed Malian midfielder Mahamadou Diarra damaged knee cartilage during the Strasbourg clash.

Houllier’s only other recognisable midfield options are Benoït Pedretti and Juninho Pernambucano. While the Brazilian has only played 25 minutes of competitive football this season, Pedretti can expect a less than flattering welcome from the fans he abandoned after a difficult 2004-05 season on the Mediterranean Coas
...........
Nancy - Lens

Last year's Ligue 2 champions Nancy have the worst record of the promoted teams so far, having suffered two straight 1-0 defeats, and they must be fearing the worst after seeing Lens record an impressive 2-0 win over Marseille last weekend.

Les Sang et Or appear to mean business this season, and Brazilian defender Vitorino Hilton is proving to be a rock at the heart of their back line. He even popped up to net Lens' second goal against Marseille, and Francis Gillot's men followed up that result with a useful 1-1 draw away to Romanian outfit Cluj in the first leg of their Intertoto Cup final.

They were the only French side to enjoy any kind of success in Europe this week, but Troyes Coach Pablo Correa can at least take comfort from having an almost complete squad to choose from. Only new signing Geoffrey Doumeng is still unavailable for action.
............
Nantes - Ajaccio
Both Nantes and Ajaccio scored three goals last time out, but the crucial difference is that the Corsicans also conceded three in their match with Lille.

In contrast, Les Canaris powered to a convincing 3-0 victory over local rivals Rennes that took them top of the table. After last season's brush with relegation, it makes a refreshing change for Serge Le Dizet's side, but club President Rudi Roussillon insists the turnaround in fortunes owes everything to hard work and nothing to luck.

Equally ominous for Rolland Courbis's visitors is the fact that Ajaccio have never won at the Stade de la Beaujoire. In fact, their goalless draw last season was one of only two stalemates they have achieved there, with the result in 2003-04 a heavy 4-0 drubbing.
............
Nice - Sochaux
Two games, two defeats and no goals scored – such is the sorry record of Sochaux's campaign so far.

Les Lionceaux still look to be in shock after the late departure of Coach Guy Lacombe before the season began, and his replacement Dominique Bijotat needs a morale-boosting result more than most. The summer exits of Sylvain Monsoreau, Santos, Jérémy Mathieu and Wilson Oruma have also hit the team hard, but on the plus side striker Araujo Ilan has recovered from a groin strain.

Their hosts are enjoying a much more positive start to the year, and Nice fans will have been encouraged to see new signing Bakary Koné score in last weekend's 2-0 win away to Toulouse. Last season's top scorer in Ligue 2 looks to be making a smooth transition to the elite, and the Côte d'Azur outfit will be keen to add to their four points.
..............
PSG - Toulouse
Paris Saint-Germain will be confident of extending their perfect start to the campaign with a third victory against Toulouse at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.

If the performance in last weekend’s 1-0 win at Sochaux was not as spectacular as that against Metz in Week 1, Laurent Fournier’s side proved they have fighting qualities as well as talented forwards. While Bonaventure Kalou and Vikash Dhorasoo have added technical excellence to the team, Czech defender David Rozehnal has added solidity alongside Mario Yepes at centre-back.

The new signings seem to have instilled fresh belief into the side, while new skipper Pedro Pauleta is commanding the respect of his teammates – something his predecessor Jose-Pierre Fanfan did not always manage.

“I’m honoured to be captain of PSG,” Pauleta said this week. “I have taken on the same responsibility at international level, and I was skipper when I was at Bordeaux. I have no problems with the role, even if my job is relatively easy when the team is winning.”

Pauleta has not yet got on the scoresheet, with midfielder Edouard Cissé surprisingly the club’s top scorer after netting in both matches so far. Cissé brilliantly rounded the last Sochaux defender before scoring on Saturday, and he admits he even surprised himself. “When I saw my goal against Sochaux I said ‘that’s too much, it can’t be me.’ It looks like I beat the defender by accident,” the 27-year-old smiled.

Toulouse began the season full of optimism after some shrewd summer acquisitions, but last weekend’s 2-0 home defeat by Nice has somewhat dented their confidence. Nevertheless, TFC Coach Erik Mombaerts knows that a shock win in the capital would see his side draw level with PSG on six points and could be the perfect way to get back on track.

Mombaerts may hand a first start to Bryan Bergougnoux, the former Lyon forward who was the subject of interest from PSG last season. The France Under-21 star looked lively after coming off the bench in the second half against Nice, and could provide support to strike-pair Santos and Daniel Moriera.
...........
St Etienne - Metz
After two goalless draws, Saint-Etienne will be raring to get their 'goals for' column going at home to Metz.

Given that this fixture itself ended in a goalless draw last season, perhaps the signs are not encouraging, but Les Verts have nonetheless won 32 of the 44 matches between these two sides at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Metz managed to recover from their 4-1 opening day defeat by Paris Saint-Germain to record a 0-0 draw at home to Le Mans, but their defence still looks fragile and they created very few chances against the Ligue 1 new boys.
..........
Strasbourg - Monaco
Neither Strasbourg nor Monaco have hit the ground running as the new season gets underway, and both will be keen to register morale-boosting wins.

Strasbourg have failed to hit the target in their two matches so far, but having faced perennial powerhouses Auxerre and Lyon, it is hardly time to panic yet. The arrival of Didier Deschamps' Monaco pits them against yet another Ligue 1 giant, but the Alsace club's Coach Jacky Duguépéroux has plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

His team performed well away to Lyon last weekend, before succumbing to a John Carew strike, and, with their Ivory Coast livewire Amara Diané in splendid form, they caused their illustrious opponents plenty of problems. Perhaps the only ingredient missing was their finishing, but, having been forced to use midfielder Alexander Farnerud as a makeshift striker in that game, Duguépéroux welcomes Mickaël Pagis back from suspension.

Also due to make his debut is exciting Tunisian forward Haykel Guémandia, brought in as a replacement for the departed Mamadou Niang, and having just received clearance to play from the authorities. "We've got quality in our squad so I think we can be ambitious," says Duguépéroux. "We're going to play the same way as we did last week, and we're going to attack the game with a winning mentality."

Monaco would do well to approach the match in the same fashion, but the psychological impact of their last-gasp loss to Betis in a Champions' League qualifier on Tuesday cannot be under-estimated. Their prospects of another lucrative European adventure looks to be in serious doubt, and Deschamps' new-look line-up has failed to click this season.

They laboured to a slender 1-0 win over newly-promoted Nancy on the opening day, thanks to a controversial Olivier Kapo goal, and slumped to an ignominious defeat at home to Auxerre last weekend. There were recriminations after the strange dismissal of left-back Patrice Evra – shown a straight red after being booked initially – but the only real upshot is that the France international is suspended.

Olivier Kapo is back after missing the Auxerre match with a groin complaint, but it looks unlikely that former Barcelona midfielder Gerard will be fit in time. Up front, Deschamps is forced to continue with misfiring duo Ernesto Chevanto and Emmanuel Adebayor as he strives to bring in Liverpool's Milan Baros behind the scenes.
---------------------
AGF - OB
AGF got 1-1 in Parken against FC København in last round. Incredible lucky because AGF was 10 men the last 45 minutes and didn’t deserve the point they got. But that’s what football is all about. This could also be the “new start of the season” that AGF needed. After some disappointing matches and 0 point they finally got on the scoreboard.

OB started “okay” but has in the last two games not managed to score. OB should have won last weekends match against FC Nordsjælland but draw 0-0. OB hasn’t lost a match yet and has proved that their defense really is okay.

AGF with better morale and OB hungry for a goal my bet will be over 2.5 goals. These teams use to play some entertaining matches against each other and last season they scored 11 goals in their 3 matches (2/3 over 2.5 goals). The last match in Aarhus ended 3-3! What makes over 2.5 goals even better is that AGF will be without both Jesper Sørensen and Naved Dayyani (both defenders) because of suspension.

Injuries:
Roger Risholt, AGF
Peter Foldgast, AGF
Thomas Lindrup, AGF

Suspensions:
Navid Dayyani, AGF
Jesper Sørensen, AGF

B93 (Copenhagen) - Hvidovre IF
Okay, I cant really see which team in this division who should be apple to beat this Hvidovre team (Mayby Bif and FCK´s reserves)...

B93 will NOT beat Hvidovre IF this saturday if the Hvidovre players continue to play so well as they did when they promoted and as they did when they defeated Stenløse 4-1 last sunday..!
B93 have almost no fans and therefore it will be like playing home for the Hvidovre team as the fanclub have arranged a bustrip and I guess that there will be 200-300 % more Hvidovre fans than B93 fans (:

B93 have their best player banned for this match and Hvidovre have their new super striker Tayfun Cevic banned...
There are no important injuries...

Hvidovre is a very hard team to get point(s) against as all players have a good technique, are in very good form, are extremely dangerous in all standard situations (special corner kicks) and they do simply not allow the other team to play football..!

As I cant see how B93 shall keep a clean sheet, and how they schall score on the Hvidovre keeper I make this bet with 9/10 units..!

AaB vs. Esbjerg fb

This may be the best bet in the Danish Superleague this weekend. AaB is placed in the relegation zone in the table. But if you look at the matches AaB has played so far they have had a really terriable and unlucky start. First of all in the 4 matches AaB has played they have meet number 1, 2 and 3 from last season. Two of the games (against FCK and FCM) they should have won but lost to FCK and draw to FCM. AaB also played without Wurtz the first games and he has proved to be an important player for AaB.

Esbjerg on the other hand disappointed me huge yesterday by losing 0-1 at home against Tromsø in the UEFAcup. Maybe Esbjerg just isn’t better. This means that Esbjerg only has 3 days from the match in the UEFAcup till the have to play against AaB in Aalborg – that’s a hard program.

I think that AaB will get all three points against Esbjerg and the odds is actually really good 2.15 @ Sportingbet. 5 Units.

Injuries:
Marco Reda, AaB
Søren Barslund, Esbjerg

FC Nordsjælland vs. FC Midtjylland

Really hard match to predict. Nobody knows how FCN will act on the poker scandal in the club (one player has cheated some other players in the club in poker game more than €2000).

FCM did manage to beat Horsens one a late goal last weekened but didn’t play well and actually Horsens did deserve one point in Herning. FCM played UEFAcup at home against B36 and managed only to win by one goal 2-1.

Beside that both teams has some injuries. I’ll stay away from this match. FCN must be very unstable after the scandal and FCM doesn’t seem to have the form right now.

Injuries:
Søren Krogh, FCN
Thomas Andreasen, FCN
Anders Due (doubtful), FCN
Anders Alding, FCN

Ulrik Lindkvist, FCM
Claus Madsen, FCM
Søren Skriver, FCM
Klaus Kærgård, FCM

Suspension:
Kristian Bak Nielsen, FCM

Silkeborg vs. Viborg

Really hard match again. Viborg the currently number one in the division (what!?!?) against Silkeborg with a lot of injuries.

Silkeborg got beat 4-0 in Esbjerg last week. I played Esbjerg with handicap so that was part of the plan but Silkeborg managed the weedend before that to beat SønderjyskE 3-2 at home, also with a lot of injuries.

Viborg scores and scores. 3 goals in all 4 matches. If they score 3 goals against Silkeborg they’ll win. It is worth mention that Viborg has played against the teams counted in the relegation fight.

Last season Silkeborg won 3-2 at home and draw 1-1 two times in Viborg, so it looks like that Silkeborg like playing against Viborg. I’ll stay away!

Hammarby-Helsingborg
