Djurgården-Enköping 82 9 9
Djurgården har gjort sitt i kvalet
till Champions League efter 2-2 mot
Partizan Belgrad. Nu är det
allsvenskan som gäller. Johan Arneng
är avstängd. Troligt att Jesper
Blomqvist får chansen från start.
Enköping har fortfarande chans på nytt
kontrakt. Baskim Sopi och Brima Koroma
är avstängda.

2. Elfsborg-Örebro 48 31 21
Tre mål av Lasse Nilsson när Elfsborg
gick till semifinal i Svenska Cupen
efter 4-1 mot Väsby. I serien har
Elfsborg bara tagit en poäng på sina
fem senaste. Martin Andersson är
avstängd. Örebro har också fem raka
utan vinst och - utan mål. ÖSK har
inte vunnit på Ryavallan sedan 1998.

3. Halmstad-AIK 49 26 25
Halmstad klart för kvartsfinal i
Svenska Cupen efter 2-1 hemma mot
Örgryte. I serien har HBK fyra raka
vinster. Mikael Nilsson är avstängd.
AIK har tre raka förluster och bara en
seger på de åtta senaste. Mats Rubarth
är avstängd. Daniel Hoch, Krister
Nordin och Fredrik Björck åter. 1-1 i
fjol.

4. Örgryte-Malmö FF 39 29 32
Mål av Paulinho hjälpte inte i
Örgrytes cupmatch mot HBK (1-2). Nu
får ÖIS koncentrera sig på allsvenskan
där det blivit sex segrar på de sju
senaste. Malmö FF har tre raka utan
vinst och tre spelare avstängda: Olof
Persson, Jon Jönsson och skyttekungen
(13 mål) Niklas Skoog. 2-2 i fjol.

5. Öster-Landskrona 25 26 49
Tungt i Växjö där Öster ännu inte
vunnit och har totalt tolv raka utan
vinst i serien. Joakim Karlsson är
avstängd. Inga nya skador. Landskrona
har sex raka utan förlust, men har
bara vunnit på Värendsvallen en gång
på 15 försök. Allan Ravn Jensen och
Hasan Cetinkaya är avstängda.

6. Brommapojkarna-Boden 61 21 18
BP har tappat mark till topplagen
efter två raka förluster mot
Falkenberg (1-3) och Assyriska (0-3).
Pontus Segerström åter efter
avstängning. Boden har vunnit varannan
match på bortaplan på slutet och slog
senast Kalmar FF (2-1). Har inte
kryssat på bortaplan.

7. Café Opera-Åtvidaberg 60 23 17
Café Opera var länge obesegrat hemma,
men har nu vunnit fler matcher borta
(fyra) än hemma (tre). Har gjort flest
mål av alla lag i serien (35). Har
aldrig förlorat hemma mot Åtvidaberg,
som lånat anfallaren Pär Cederqvist
från Djurgården. 2-2 i fjol.

8. Forward-Gefle 25 29 46
Forward har tre raka förluster och har
bara vunnit en av de sex senaste,
Frölunda borta 2-1. Bör vinna för att
inta halka efter i jakten på nytt
kontrakt. Gefle har toppform. Gefle

Magnus
Eriksson och Fredrik Jönsson åter
efter avstängning. Har inte kryssat
hemma. Häcken har fem raka vinster och
har tagit fler poäng borta än hemma.
Ivica Skiljo är avstängd. 0-2 i fjol.

11. Norrköping-Västerås SK 54 27 19
IFK Norrköping uppträder ojämnt och
ser i dagsläget inte ut som ett
allsvenskt lag. Får tillbaka Patrik
Kieback efter avstängning. Västerås
har också tappat mark till topplagen
efter sex raka utan vinst. Får
tillbaka Adam Braz efter avstängning.

12. Trelleborgs FF-Assyriska 54 23 23
Trelleborg hade chansen att rycka i
toppen, men förlorade överraskande
borta mot Falkenberg (0-1). Thomas
Magnusson och Johan Laursen är
avstängda. Assyriska skrällde i cupen
mot IFK Göteborg (4-1). Zoran Manovic
är avstängd. Har ännu inte kryssat i
serien. 1-0 i fjol.

13. Frölunda-Falkenberg 70 17 13
Västra Frölunda skuggar Trelleborg i
toppen och har bara förlorat mot
nykomlingen Forward (1-2) på
hemmaplan. Inga nya skador eller
avstängningar. Falkenberg fällde många
tippare senast genom att besegra
Trelleborg hemma (1-0). Ändå på
nedflyttningsplats. Björn Carlsson
åter efter avstängning.

----------
1 Coritiba-Flamengo x x2 1x2
Jag trodde mycket på Coritiba förra
söndagen, men 1-1 hemma mot Fortaleza
var en stor missräkning. Flamengo fick
däremot äntligen betalt för sitt fina
spel då de i veckan utklassade Bahia
med 6-0. Edilson gjorde tre av målen
och han kan sänka Coritiba också.

2 Figueirense-Vitoria 1 1x 1x
Figueirense tog snabbt revansch för
första hemmaförlusten mot formstarka
Gois (0-1) då de i torsdags vann borta
mot Corinthians med matchens enda mål.
Vitoria siktar på kryss och kan klara
det trots att bäste anfallaren Ze
Roberto är avstängd.

3 Atletico Mineiro-Corinthians 1 1 1
Det är alltid farligt att prata om
kupongens säkraste vinnare, men något

Internacional imponerade borta senast
mot Sao Paulo (2-0). Jag kryssar, med
extra feeling för Internacional.

5 Bahia-Fortaleza 1 1 1x
Två lag som kämpar för nytt kontrakt
och för Bahia drogs gardinen ner
ytterligare en bit borta mot Flamengo
(0-6). Nu är Bahia ett utpräglat
hemmalag, som kan få snabb revansch,
men Fortaleza ska inte få spräcka mitt
tips en gång till. Därför en
kryssgardering.

6 Paysandu-Goias x 1x 1x2
I mina ögon omgångens svåraste match
mellan två formstarka lag där jag
måste berömma Goias, som efter 3-1 mot
Vasco da Gama spelat nio raka utan
förlust och lämnat jumboplatsen. Dimba
toppar skytteligan på 19 mål, mer än
hälften av Goias totala 37.

7 Vasco da Gama-Guarani 1 1x 1x
Jag har påpekat det tidigare och jag
gör det igen. Jag blir inte klok på
Vasco da Gama, detta stjärnspäckade
lag som slåss för nytt kontrakt i
stället för guld. När det lossnar,
vilket det mycket väl kan göra mot
beskedliga Guarani, kan det lossna
rejält.

8 Gremio-Atletico Paranaense 1 1 1
Ett bottemöte där jag utgår från att
hemmaplan avgör. Gremio har ju tagit
19 av sina 22 poäng hemma medan
Atletico Paranaense ännu inte vunnit
borta, å andra sidan vann Paranenese i

mina gamla klubbkompisar Gudmundur
Mete och Mikael Roth har garanterat
inte gett upp. Gudmundur är bra på
fasta situationer. Han avgör.

13 Trelleborg-Assyriska 1 1 1
Jodå, jag har noterat Assyriskas
cupskräll mot IFK Göteborg och är
införstådd med att laget har kapacitet
för att också klättra i tabellen, men
något säger mig att Trelleborg inte
förlorar två matcher i följd, att de
vill revanschera sig efter plumpen i
Falkenberg.

Bayern Munich visit Hanover 96 for their second game in the Bundesliga season on Saturday but the German champions will probably have to wait before they can field new striker Roy Makaay.

Bayern said on Monday that they had eventually succeeded in their bid to purchase the Dutchman from Deportivo Coruna but it has emerged since that the two clubs were still fighting over the transfer fee.

Makaay is in Munich and trained with Bayern for the first time on Thursday but the club were still awaiting written confirmation of their record deal with Deportivo.

Bayern, who completed their fourth domestic league and Cup double last season, launched the defence of their Bundesliga title with a 3-1 win over promoted Eintracht Frankfurt last week.

Hanover, who held Bayern to two draws last season, also started in promising fashion, with a surprise 3-0 win at Hamburg SV.

Other matches this weekend (league positions in parentheses, kickoff times GMT):

Saturday, August 9 (1330)

SC FREIBURG (15) v HANSA ROSTOCK (14)

Promoted SC Freiburg have focused in training in trying to tighten up their defence after opening with a 4-1 defeat by Bayer Leverkusen.

Rostock, who fell 2-0 at home to VfB Stuttgart last weekend, have never won a league game in Freiburg.

- - - -

WERDER BREMEN (2=) v BOR. MOENCHENGLADBACH (7=)

Werder Bremen dropped out of the Intertoto Cup and will not play in Europe but looked strong in their 3-0 win over Hertha in Berlin last weekend.

Moenchengladbach, who started with a 1-0 win over promoted Cologne, already have plenty of injury worries with striker Peter van Houdt among the casualties.

- - - -

COLOGNE (12) v KAISERSLAUTERN (18)

Cologne, who have not won any of their last nine home Bundesliga matches against Kaiserslautern, have two players suspended in midfielder, Alexander Voigt and defender Moses Sichone.

Kaiserslautern, stuck at the bottom of the table with minus three points for breaching licensing rules, also have a player suspended in defender Bill Tchato. Egypt defender Hany Ramzy will remain out of action for around six months after damaging knee ligaments in last weekend's 1-0 defeat by TSV 1860 Munich.

- - - -

TSV 1860 MUNICH (7=) v SCHALKE 04 (9=)

TSV 1860 can turn to recent history for inspiration, having won this fixture 3-0 last season.

Schalke, still in contention for a place in the UEFA Cup via the Intertoto Cup, have a midfield problem with Joerg Boehme out injured and Gerald Asamoah serving a suspension.

- - - -

BORUSSIA DORTMUND (9=) v VFL WOLFSBURG (6)

Dortmund are already decimated by injuries with defender Evanilson and midfielders Torsten Frings and Guy Demel all facing lengthy layoffs. To make matters worse, Germany midfielder Sebastian Kehl is serving a six-week ban for pushing the referee in a warm-up game.

Wolfsburg started with a hard-fought 3-2 win over VfL Bochum. Argentina midfielder Andres D'Alessandro made a promising debut for the ambitious club sponsored by Wolfsburg-based carmakers Volkswagen.

- - - -

VFL BOCHUM (11) v HAMBURG SV (16=)

Bochum coach Peter Neururer has no injury worries and was expected to give the team who lost to Wolfsburg another chance by picking the same starting line-up.

Hamburg coach Kurt Jara welcomes back Czech defender Tomas Ujfalusi, who was suspended last weekend and sorely missed in the 3-0 defeat by Hanover.

- - - -

Sunday, August 10 (1530)

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT (13) v BAYER LEVERKUSEN (1)

Promoted Eintracht lost to Leverkusen the last three times they entertained them in Bundesliga matches.

Leverkusen, who had a nightmare run last season, narrowly escaping relegation, thrilled their fans last weekend with a 4-1 win over SC Freiburg that put them at the top of the standings.

- - - -

VFB STUTTGART (5) v HERTHA BERLIN (16=)

Stuttgart, last season's surprise runners-up, started well with with a 2-0 win at Hansa Rostock and will be at full strength.

Hertha will be without inspirational Brazilian Marcelinho, who sustained a foot fracture in last weekend's 3-0 defeat by Werder Bremen.

Preview: Derby County v Stoke City

Central defender Dave Walton is Derby boss George Burley's main fitness worry ahead of the Pride Park clash with Stoke.

Walton picked up a knee injury and also complained of a tight calf muscle during the midweek friendly outing at Eastwood Town.

Fellow defender Youl Mawene was ruled out earlier in the week when he was diagnosed as suffering medial knee ligament damage.

But captain Warren Barton, who underwent close-season surgery on a troublesome shoulder, is likely to make the squad after a back problem while Lee Morris is also expected to feature having recovered from hamstring, back, thigh and knee injuries.

On-loan Portuguese winger Candido Costa is poised for his debut despite the kick in the face which cost him two teeth against the Spaniards.

Stoke manager Tony Pulis will hand new signing Carl Asaba his debut.

Asaba arrived from Sheffield United on Tuesday and Pulis is hoping he can score the goals to keep a new-look Stoke outfit well away from the drop zone this season.

Fellow summer signings Darel Russell, Keith Andrews, Ed De Goey, Gifton Noel-Williams, Clint Hill and John Eustace are also likely to make their debuts.

But midfielder Kris Commons faces a race against time to be fit after picking up a knee injury in the friendly against Rotherham.
.....
Preview: Ipswich Town v Reading

Ipswich have a clean bill of health ahead of the opener at home to Reading.

Full-back Chris Makin has recovered from a thigh injury and midfield anchorman George Santos has shaken off a calf problem.

Striker Marcus Bent has responded to treatment following a back strain.

Reading manager Alan Pardew has the luxury of a fully-fit squad to choose from.

The team which reached the First Division play-off semi-finals last season has been strengthened by the signings of Shaun Goater from Manchester City and Scott Murray from Bristol City.

Reading's back-five will be the same as last season with Marcus Hahnemann in goal and Graeme Murty, Adrian Williams, Steve Brown and Nicky Shorey in front of him. Goater and last season's leading scorer Nicky Forster will play up front.

It is in midfield where Pardew has selection problems. Murray will play on the right with James Harper, Andy Hughes and Steve Sidwell contesting the two berths in the middle of the park.

Nathan Tyson hopes to get the place on the left side of midfield.
......
Preview: Millwall v Wigan

Noel Whelan will make his Millwall debut against Wigan having signed a one-year contract at the New Den.

The 28-year-old is expected to start alongside Neil Harris as Mark McCammon is sidelined with a knee injury.

David Livermore is also ruled out having undergone cartilage surgery.

Mark McGhee will add Arsenal's Brazilian wing-back Juan to his squad after signing him on loan, but Richard Sadlier is unlikely to be risked as he recovers from a hip injury.

Wigan will definitely be without Nathan Ellington, who is only just back in light training after knee surgery.

Andy Liddell and Neil Roberts are expected to lead the front line in his absence, but Mike Flynn is doubtful with a thigh strain.
.....
Preview: Nottingham Forest v Sunderland

Nottingham Forest will kick-off their Division One campaign without the services of Michael Dawson who is suspended for the City Ground clash with Sunderland.

Dawson has also been recovering from a bout of glandular fever while Gareth Williams is likely to be missing as he continues his rehabilitation from close-season surgery on a shoulder problem.

Michael Stewart is set to start in the middle of the park while Danny Sonner and Brynjar Gunnarsson should play a part.

Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy will head into the new season without his biggest names.

Gavin McCann, Jody Craddock and Bernt Haas have all left Wearside during the summer as the cash-strapped Black Cats attempt to address their crippling debt problems.

But a trio of other high earners will not be involved. Kevin Phillips, the subject of a £3million bid from Southampton, Thomas Sorensen, whose advisors have discussed a £2.25million move to Aston Villa, and Michael Gray, whose captain's armband has been handed to Jason McAteer, will be notable absentees from the squad.

In addition, record signing Tore Andre Flo, who scored twice for the reserves in midweek, is unlikely to be involved and American midfielder Claudio Reyna, who is battling back to fitness after knee surgery, is not yet ready to play 90 minutes.

New signing Gary Breen is also short of match fitness and will not make the trip but midfielder Jeff Whitley seems a certain starter.

Estonia international Mart Poom will start in goal, while Kevin Kyle and Marcus Stewart are likely to team up in attack.
....
Preview: Preston v West Ham

Paul McKenna looks set to miss Preston's opening-day clash with West Ham.

McKenna picked up an ankle problem during training this week and could be forced to watch from the sidelines at Deepdale.

West Ham manager Glenn Roeder is likely to start with Jermain Defoe up front with alongside new signing David Connolly, with year-long loan man Neil Mellor also in contention.

Steve Lomas is still recovering from an ankle injury, with Rob Lee likely to deputise in midfield.

Michael Carrick is sidelined following surgery on his groin, while Ian Pearce is suspended.
.....
Preview: Sheffield United v Gillingham

New signing Ashley Ward is expected to make his Sheffield United debut against Gillingham at Bramall Lane.

The former Bradford striker agreed a two-year deal on Thursday and could partner fellow new-boy Jack Lester in attack.

Boss Neil Warnock will also have summer arrivals Mike Whitlow, Andy Parkinson and Chris Morgan in contention.

Michael Brown could play after coming though a run-out against Middlesborough last week, although Steve Kabba looks set to miss out after his pre-season was disrupted by injury.

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler will be without four key players.

Striker Rod Wallace had an operation over the summer on his lower leg and should return to full-fitness within two weeks, as will Marlon King who is returning after cruciate ligament damage.

Club captain Paul Smith and Kevin James are still recovering from summer knee operations.

New signings Ian Cox and John Hills are set to make their debuts, despite the latter missing training sessions with a toe problem.
.......
Preview: Walsall v West Brom

Jamie Lawrence is expected to be the sole Walsall absentee ahead of the clash with West Brom.

The Jamaica international is out for a fortnight after chipping bone in his foot during the pre-season friendly against Kidderminster.

Paul Merson is expected to make his Saddlers debut.

West Brom new signing Joost Volmer goes straight into the side.

But fellow new signing Thomas Gaardsoe is likely to miss out with an ankle knock.

The only other absentees are Darren Moore and Michael Appleton, who have cruciate knee ligament problems.
.....
Preview: Watford v Coventry City

Danny Webber should partner Bruce Dyer in attack for Watford against Coventry at Vicarage Road.

Both returned to the Hornets this summer after previous spells with the club and Webber is playing again after a broken leg.

But fellow new-boy Jimmy Davis, on loan from Manchester United, is struggling to be fit with a groin injury. Paul Robinson is banned and Wayne Brown is doubtful with a calf strain so places are up for grabs at the back. Jason Norville has a hamstring injury.

Coventry player-manager Gary McAllister has been boosted by the return to fitness of two star players - but will be forced to name a 16-year-old among the substitutes.

Teenage goalkeeper Jon Tuffey is the sole cover for first-choice Scott Shearer after understudies Gavin Ward and Richard Brush fell victim to respective back and groin injuries.

But striker Dele Adebola has recovered from a groin strain while midfielder Youssef Safri has also been named in the squad after overcoming a hamstring problem.

Defenders Richard Shaw and Dean Gordon, plus midfielder David Pipe, have been ruled out by foot injuries.

Strikers Andy Morrell and Graham Barrett are also likely absentees after collecting calf and knee ligament injuries.
.....
Preview: Wimbledon v Crewe

Wimbledon are missing Joel McAnuff and Lionel Morgan for the opening clash of the season at home to Crewe.

McAnuff is out with a foot injury and Morgan has a knee problem.

New signing Dean Holdsworth is likely to start up front but manager Stuart Murdoch may also blood some youngsters, including Michael Gordon, after five of his first-team squad left during the summer.

Crewe boss Dario Gradi could be without star striker Dean Ashton, who has a tight hamstring and has not trained this week.

Fellow striker Paul Edwards is out for six weeks with an ankle injury while defender Richard Walker has missed the last fortnight with shin splints and should return to training next week.

Defender Chris McCready is fit following a knee problem and new signing Justin Cochrane will be available after shaking off a shin injury he sustained against Tranmere last weekend.

Neil Sorvel is back in contention after missing most of pre-season with an ankle problem and Clayton Ince should start in goal having recovered from flu.

Adie Moses is set to make his debut and James Robinson or Luke Varney could start for the first time if Ashton is not fit.
.....
Preview: Bradford v Norwich

Bradford defender Jason Gavin is struggling to be fit for the Valley Parade clash with Norwich.

Gavin has been troubled by a thigh strain and has missed training all week.

The 23-year-old's likely omission means manager Nicky Law could be forced into employing left-back Paul Heckingbottom as a makeshift central defender against the club he left this summer.

But Wayne Jacobs has bounced back from the knee problem which ruled him out of training until late in the week.

Norwich will be without Iwan Roberts and Alex Notman (both ankle).

Summer signing Jim Brennan is doubtful with a thigh injury and Phil Mulryne is unlikely to start as he is short of match fitness following a hamstring problem and blisters.

However, Damien Francis is poised to make his debut in the centre of midfield alongside Gary Holt.
.......
Preview: Burnley v Crystal Palace

Neil Shipperley returns to the Crystal Palace line-up at Burnley after a five-year absence following his return from Wimbledon.

But manager Steve Kember has failed to clinch the signing of Northern Ireland international Michael Hughes in time.

Defenders Tony Popovic (groin) and Darren Powell (back) suffered knocks during pre-season but are expected to be fit. Hayden Mullins is suspended and transfer-listed defender Danny Granville is recovering from a hernia operation.

Burnley striker Gareth Taylor will definitely miss out and could be sidelined for up to a month.

The Wales international sustained an eye injury in the recent friendly with Leeds.

He will not be allowed to train for three weeks after he visited a specialist earlier this week.

It is a big blow for boss Stan Ternent, who is also without the suspended Ian Moore for the first three games of the season.

On-loan winger Luke Chadwick may play despite undergoing an operation on his jaw over the summer. Defender Mark McGregor (knee) is out.
----------------------------------------
Bristol City v Notts County

Bristol City boss Danny Wilson will be without midfielder Aaron Brown for the home clash with Notts County.

The local-born player was given a seven-match ban towards the end of last season but remains suspended for the first five games after using up two of them in the Second Division play-offs.

Brown is the only absentee as manager Danny Wilson reports a clean bill of health ahead of the visit of the Magpies.

Beleaguered Notts County manager Bill Dearden has received a timely boost with two players signing new short-term deals.

Ian Richardson has put pen to paper on a month-by-month contract while Wales Under-21 international Michael Brough will remain at the cash-strapped club on a week-to-week basis.

Both players are eligible to feature at Ashton Gate, but there has been no progress on efforts to retain goalkeeper Saul Deeney on a new contract.
....
Preview: Luton v Rushden & Diamonds

Mike Newell enters his first season in charge of Luton with a just 17 senior professionals ahead of the curtain-raiser against Rushden & Diamonds.

Defender Russell Perrett is still recovering from a groin operation and Peter Holmes has been sacrificed to cut costs.

Lee Mansell was stretchered off during a pre-season friendly with a leg injury and also misses the clash against Brian Talbot's men.

Although the Football League transfer embargo has been relaxed, Newell is likely to start the season with inexperienced teenager Robert Beckwith between the sticks until a replacement is found.

Rushden boss Talbot has a slight concern over Scotland Under-21 international Stuart Gray, who has a slight Achilles injury.

New striker Rodney Jack has now returned to full fitness and is likely to make his debut, but long-term injury victims Robert Duffy, Stuart Wardley and Ritchie Hanlon all miss out.
.....
Preview: Peterborough v Hartlepool

Andrew Fotiadis will miss Peterborough's home clash with Hartlepool with a thigh injury.

Fellow frontman Francis Green has recovered from a stubbed toe, but Ryan Semple (broken leg) and Adam Fry (ankle) remain long-term injury victims.

Pools have signed Gavin Strachan after he impressed manager Neale Cooper in a trial.

He goes straight into the squad to face Posh, but Cooper has doubts over Micky Barron and Mark Tinkler.

Tinkler picked up an ankle problem in the friendly with Leeds, while Barron has a slight thigh injury.

New boys Michael Nelson, Marco Gabbiadini, Paul Robinson and Andy Jordan are in contention to make their debuts.
....
Preview: Plymouth v Grimsby

Defender David Worrell is poised to make his 100th league appearance for Plymouth as they kick off the season at home to Grimsby.

Boss Paul Sturrock will wait to see whether central defender Graham Coughlan suffers any reaction after making his comeback from a heel injury in the 5-0 friendly win at Saltash.

Summer signing Tony Capaldi is expected to start in midfield while on-loan Peter Gilbert vies for the left-back spot with Lee Hodges.

Grimsby manager Paul Groves is likely to hand debuts to Mike Edwards and Jason Crowe for the trip to Home Park.

Fellow new signings Tony Crane, Marcel Cas and Iain Anderson are also likely to play a part, but Groves will be without Alan Pouton (knee) and John McDermott (calf), while Stacy Coldicott is in light training after returning from injury.

The Mariners will try to conserve their energy for the contest by flying down to Argyle on the day of the match.
.....
Preview: Oldham v Brighton

Oldham skipper David Eyres is rated 50-50 for the visit of Brighton after injuring his ankle in a pre-season friendly against Manchester City.

Dean Holden (thigh) is also a doubt while striker Chris Killen is fit again after a foot problem, although he may not be risked due to a lack of match practice.

New signing Ernie Cooksey is unavailable for the opening four matches of the campaign after a suspension was carried over from previous club Crawley Town.

David Beharall remains sidelined after knee surgery in the summer.

Brighton boss Steve Coppell is set to hand a debut to striker Darius Henderson who has joined on a month's loan from Reading.

The 21-year-old goes straight into the squad for the trip to Boundary Park.

Coppell will be without Dean Blackwell (cruciate knee ligaments) and John Piercy (stomach bug).
...
Preview: Port Vale v Bournemouth

Port Vale will be without Mark Goodlad and Neil Brisco for the clash at home to newly-promoted Bournemouth.

Goalkeeper Goodlad could be sidelined for up to three months after undergoing a finger operation, while Brisco is serving a two-match ban carried over from last season.

Bournemouth have doubts over Neil Young, Gareth Stuart and Jason Tindall.

Young suffered a twisted ankle in training this week and has been resting as a precaution.

Reserve keeper Stuart has been suffering from a niggling foot injury and is rated slightly better than 50-50 to make the bench.

Tindall remains 50-50 with an ankle problem, although he trained in midweek.
...
Preview: QPR v Blackpool

New signings Gareth Ainsworth, Martin Rowlands and Eric Sabin should all be named in the QPR squad to face Blackpool.

Marc Bircham is back in training after a hamstring injury and will be available, while Kevin Gallen is back after ligament damage.

Tommy Williams is also in contention after returning to Loftus Road on a one-month loan from Birmingham.

Richard Pacquette misses out with a hamstring injury and Tottenham striker Mark Yeates will not figure as his proposed loan move has been scuppered by injury.

Blackpool look set to hand debuts to new signings Steve Davis, Mike Sheron and Kirk Hilton, along with Neil Danns and Jonathan Douglas, who this week joined the Seasiders on short-term loan deals from Blackburn.

Boss Steve McMahon is without Keith Southern, although the midfielder is now only a fortnight away from a return following a knee ligament injury.
...
Preview: Swindon v Sheff Wed

Swindon's summer signing Tommy Mooney has been given a 70 per cent chance of playing against Sheffield Wednesday.

Mooney has been suffering from a foot injury, but the player will be given the final say on whether he plays against the Owls.

The Robins have also signed centre-back Ben Martin from Harpenden Town, with the 21-year-old agreeing a one-year deal.
