The Portland Trailblazers (2-2) will meet the leagues hottest team tonight, when they host the Pistons (5-0) at the Rose Garden.
Don’t let yourself to be fooled by the Blazers 2-2 record – they are not 50/50 team. Portland has won the Hawks (probably the weakest team right now) and the Knicks (team that has yet to figure out how to play under new head-coach L.Brown). Looking at the Blazers losses against the Nuggets and T`Wolves you get the better idea what that team has in it. To be precise – they don’t have much. Randolph, Miles and Telfair have lead their team so far, but they will see the toughest defenders against them tonight. If Detroit is anywhere near what they have shown so far expect the Trailblazers to struggle at both ends ... all the way.
After winning in Phoenix yesterday, Detroit's has a 5-0 start, which is its best in 17 years. Maybe those wins aren`t against the top quality teams, but the Pistons game has been close to perfect so far for sure. No need to talk about the defence, which they can turn on anytime they need, but also their offensive play has been terrific. You can pick your man – Hamilton, Billups, Prince or Sheed - to go close to 30 points in every given night. The bench production has been a slight problem so far, but McDyess, Arroyo and Evans are good enough to give out at least rest minutes for the starters. It`s hard to believe that team will lose to the Trailblazers now when they have won in Sacramento and Phoenix in straight away games.
We will go with the Pistons 2nd night in a row. The team is hot and although it will be their 3rd game in 4 nights they should be fit enough to handle a weak team like the Trailblazers. Expect Darko see some nice minutes tonight, starters to have some laughs on the bench and the Pistons to cover the spread while going to 6-0 record. Medium+ stakes 6/10!
