Two teams who had only small changes in their roster over the off-season, so as for tactics their meetings this year should look much the same like in last year. As the Knicks team folded soon, a year ago, they obviously lost both of the meetings against the Spurs. Well to be precise they were killed losing at home 96-109 and 93-121 in away game.
Once again it has been not the best start for the Knicks this year. Although they won season opener against the “Gasol-less” Memphis in triple overtime thriller, they also lost their next 2 games - falling to the Hawks 92-102 and the Pacers 95-109. One thing similar in all 3 games is that the Knicks are allowing opponents to make a run in the fourth quarter (29-18 vs MEM, 21-12 vs ATL in last 7 minutes and 32-19 vs IND). The fact itself indicates that the Knicks have been unable to deliver their best game when it’s a crunchtime and opponents are raising up their level.
San Antonio has started its season with 2 wins and a surprising loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Still away wins against the Mavs and improved Raptors team are clear indicators that the team is in a good shape. All their important players are healthy – the fact that itself makes the Spurs more or less unbeatable. We expect the trend to continue and the Spurs to win and cover the spread against the Knicks. Medium stakes 5/10 due to the back-to-back game for the Spurs.
