The season that started better than expected is turning ugly for the Magic. After being 22-14 at one point the Magic now hold a record of 27-28 and fight to stay in play-off spot. As always Orlando`s problems come with injuries. Not having Grant Hill for few games let their momentum to fade and now being 6-2 over the last 8 games they look like a struggling team.
You could say almost opposite about the Pistons team. For them the start of the season wasn’t anything to be a proud of, but ever since signing with Chris Webber this Detroit team looks like a hot favourites to win the Eastern Conference title. Addition of Webber has opened things up for his teammates and getting Chauncey Billups from injury slowly back to his usual form helps as well. The Pistons have won 9 of last 10 and 13 of last 16 and are definitely the hottest team in the East right now.
This will be back-to-back meeting for those 2 teams. They played two days ago in the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit and Pistons never had any problems with the Magic. Detroit ran away early in the first half and the game became 110-88 “laughter” early. The Magic will have home court advantage, but the difference in quality and form right now is too much for them to overcome. We expect the Pistons to cover this small spread without any big problems. High stakes!
