Preview: Walsall v Ipswich

Walsall's new signing Craig Burley will go straight into the squad to face Ipswich at the Bescot Stadium.

Paul Merson is also pushing for a place in the starting line-up after coming off the bench in Saturday's 1-0 win over Wimbledon.

However, Australian midfielder Steve Corica is struggling to make the match because of a hamstring injury while Darren Wrack is sidelined with an Achilles problem.

Ipswich, already without seven first-team players, could also be missing goalkeeper Kelvin Davis and Richard Naylor.

Davis was confined to bed on Monday with a stomach bug while Naylor fractured a toe against Millwall on Saturday.

A decision will be made on Tuesday whether the injury can be strapped so that he can play.

On the plus side, defender Matt Elliott is set to make his debut after joining on a one-month loan from Leicester City.

Preview: Cardiff v Reading

A hamstring strain sustained in the 2-1 home victory over Norwich City has forced Cardiff City winger Paul Parry out of the match against Reading at Ninian Park.

The Wales star misses his first game since joining from Hereford and his replacement against the Canaries, Jamaican international Richard Langley, will start for the Bluebirds.

Gary Croft has reported slight soreness to his shoulder which he re-set himself after dislocating it in the second half against Norwich, but the former Ipswich star should be fit to play.

Langley's place on the bench could go to Lee Bullock while Cardiff are unable to call on James Collins and skipper Graham Kavanagh, who has been ruled out for the season with an ankle problem.

Reading manager Steve Coppell has recalled goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown from Rushden & Diamonds in time for the trip to Cardiff.

Marcus Hahnemann limped out of Saturday's goalless draw with Stoke suffering from a strain to his medial ligament and is unlikely to recover in time.

Lloyd Owusu starts a three-match ban and is expected to be replaced by Dave Kitson.

Nicky Forster has begun his recovery from a stomach injury but will not be fit for around a month.

Tranmere's Sean Connelly and Ian Goodison are set to return to the team for the FA Cup quarter-final replay against Millwall.

Connelly (thigh) and Goodison (ankle) both missed the home defeat by Chesterfield at the weekend because of injury.

Iain Hume is likely to partner Eugene Dadi up front as Tranmere aim to reach the semi-finals for the first time in their history.

Mark McCammon has been ruled out for Millwall with concussion.

The striker was carried off on a stretcher during the 3-1 win at Ipswich and has been ordered to rest for seven days.

Neil Harris is favourite to replace him in the starting line-up after hitting two goals from the bench.

Player-manager Dennis Wise is likely to recall himself after a knee injury which required seven stitches.

Darren Ward has been playing despite painkilling injections in his knee but is set to continue.

West Brom boss Gary Megson has no fresh injury concerns or suspensions for the visit of Wigan.

Ronnie Wallwork has recovered from the foot problem which kept him out of the 2-1 victory over Crewe at the weekend and is expected to take his place in the squad.

Larus Sigurdsson is the only absentee for the Baggies as the Icelander prepares to undergo surgery on a cruciate ligament injury.

Wigan boss Paul Jewell will wait until the last minute before picking his squad in order to give Alan Mahon a chance to recover from a hamstring injury.

Otherwise, Jewell is unlikely to make any changes to the side with Jason Roberts (suspension), Gary Teale (broken collarbone) and Steve McMillan (groin) all still sidelined

Watford aim to end a run of three straight defeats with a win against Derby but manager Ray Lewington has little scope for changes with his squad still depleted by injuries.

Marcus Gayle and Neil Cox (both hamstring) miss out, along with Jack Smith and Hameur Bouazza (both ankle).

Lee Cook and Danny Webber could come into contention for a return to the starting line-up after coming on as substitutes in the 2-0 defeat at home to Sheffield United on Saturday.

Derby's Michael Johnson is ruled out after he was forced out of the 1-0 win over Rotherham on Saturday with back spasms and will now undergo further tests to assess the extent of the problem.

And with Rob Edwards also a major doubt because of bronchitis, Rams boss George Burley has been forced to recall Dave Walton from his loan spell at Stockport.

Meanwhile, Manel is serving the second of a three-match suspension and will also miss the trip.

Jody Morris must wait before making his Rotherham debut and misses the home game against Sheffield United because of a knee injury.

However, Morris is expected to be available for selection against Gillingham at the weekend.

Roy McFarland has no new injury or suspension concerns as Chesterfield prepare for the home game against Brighton.

The Spireites came through the win at Tranmere on Saturday unscathed, with McFarland likely to name the same side that started against Brian Little's men.

Brighton boss Mark McGhee adds Stoke striker Chris Iwelumo to his side ahead of the trip to Saltergate.

Colchester will be without goalkeeper Richard McKinney for the visit of Wycombe to Layer Road.
