Birmingham midfielder Damien Johnson will be missing through suspension after being sent off against Charlton.
So David Dunn could make his first start of the season, but striker Mikael Forssell will not play as he has a knee problem and has been ordered to rest.

Lincoln striker Gary Taylor-letcher is still suffering from a groin injury and faces a late fitness test.

Nathan Peat is back in contention after suffering from blisters but Michael Blackwood is out with a stomach strain

Burnley v Wolves

Micah Hyde is set to return to the Burnley line-up after serving a three-match ban but Lee Roche is still sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Clarets boss Steve Cotterill has hinted he will make changes for his side's fourth game in 11 days.

Wolves are expected to rest striker Kenny Miller and defender Joleon Lescott because of injuries.

Winger Kevin Cooper begins a three-game suspension, while Dean Sturridge is doubtful with a thigh problem

Colchester v West Brom

Colchester boss Phil Parkinson is unlikely to have any of his injured players back in time to feature.
Sam Stockley (groin), Gavin Johnson (groin), Karl Duguid (knee) and Kem Izzet are all ruled out.

West Brom are without the suspended Neil Clement, who was sent off against Fulham, and Paul Robinson, who injured knee ligaments in the same match.

Albion will check on the fitness of goalkeeper Russell Hoult, who is recovering from a stomach bug.

Crewe v Sunderland

Crewe striker Luke Varney is ruled out with a thigh injury while Dean Ashton and defender Anthony Tonkin are doubtful with dead legs.
Billy Jones' hamstring continues to trouble him, Adie Moses has a thigh strain and Lee Bell faces a five-week lay-off with a broken arm.

Sunderland's Carl Robinson will miss the game with head and neck injuries.

Striker Kevin Kyle is almost certainly ruled out with a long-standing hip problem which requires surgery

Crystal Palace v Hartlepool

Palace striker Andy Johnson misses the match after suffering a bruised leg on against Manchester City on Saturday.
Summer signing Mark Hudson is out with an ankle injury, while veteran striker Neil Shipperley is suspended after being sent-off for the reserves.

Hartlepool have Chris Westwood and Eifion Williams back to full fitness.

Matty Robson has recovered after picking up a knock on Saturday but Jack Ross, Hugh Robertson and Darrell Clarke all miss out.

Doncaster v Ipswich

Doncaster manager Dave Penney will be without on-loan midfielder Mark Wilson, as Middlesbrough do not wish him to become cup-tied.
Gregg Blundell is still suffering with an ankle injury while Simon Marples (stomach), Tim Ryan (foot) and Dave Morley (hernia) are still sidelined.

Ipswich boss Joe Royle will make at least three changes for this cup clash.

Full-back Matt Richards, midfielder Tony Dinning and striker Dean Bowditch are all certain starters in this game.

Grimsby v Charlton

Grimsby have doubts over Thomas Pinault (groin) and Justin Whittle (back).
Chris Williams and Terrell Forbes are cup-tied and the Mariners are waiting to hear whether Tranmere will allow on-loan striker Paul Robinson to play.

Charlton boss Alan Curbishley is unlikely to make too many changes after promising not to take Grimsby lightly.

However, if he is tempted to alter his line-up, changes could come in attack after strikers Kevin Lisbie and Jonatan Johansson failed to score on Saturday.

Leeds v Swindon

Leeds' loan signing Brett Ormerod will not feature as Southampton do not want him cup-tied.
But teenage midfielder Simon Walton is back in training and in contention, while Australian striker Jamie McMaster is also pushing for a place.

Swindon will be without striker Darius Henderson who is back at Gillingham after completing his one-month loan spell with the Robins.

Rory Fallon is expected to replace him at Elland Road.



Milton K v Cardiff

Milton Keynes defender Malvin Kamara is almost certainly out after he sustained a hamstring injury in the 1-0 victory over Colchester on Saturday.
The omission of Kamara is likely to be the only change made by Dons manager Stuart Murdoch.

Cardiff's John Robinson, keeper Martyn Margetson, Gary Croft, Richard Langley and Robert Page are all definitely out.

Willie Boland and Stuart Fleetwood are also doubtful, but defender James Collins could be handed a start.


Norwich v Bristol Rovers

Norwich could be missing four first-team players, including defenders Craig Fleming and Marc Edworthy.
The pair are trying to shake off leg injuries, while striker Darren Huckerby has a slight ankle problem and Leon McKenzie is ill with flu symptoms.

Bristol Rovers defender Robbie Ryan is doubtful after sustaining an ankle injury in Saturday's draw with Lincoln.

Midfielder Craig Disley could make his first start of the season after coming off the bench in the last two games.


Reading v Watford

Reading have a full-strength squad to choose from for the visit of Watford.
Steve Coppell has no injuries or suspensions to contend with and is expected to name hi first-choice side.

Watford skipper Sean Dyche, who played in the 2-0 win over Millwall on Sunday despite suffering from bruised ribs, could be rested.

Jay Demerit would be the likely candidate to replace Dyche, while midfielder Andy Ferrell could also come in for Ray Lewington's side.


Tranmere v Portsmouth

Tranmere defender Mike Jackson begins a three-match ban after being sent off against Wrexham at the weekend.
Rovers striker Calvin Zola (calf) is back in training and will be in contention if he suffers no reaction.

Portsmouth's record signing Diomansy Kamara is set to make his first start for the club at Prenton Park.

Goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown and midfielder Aliou Cisse could also make debuts as Pompey boss Harry Redknapp looks to give his fringe players a chance.


West Ham v Notts County

West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand is in contention to return after recovering from the injury he picked up on England Under-21 duty earlier this month.
Steve Lomas (hamstring and ankle) and Bobby Zamora (knee) could also return.

County have a doubt over striker Gavin Gordon (ankle) and defender Julian Baudet who is nursing a calf strain.

On-loan trio Youssef Sofiane, Wayne Henderson and Craig Pead have not been given permission to play in the Carling Cup by their parent clubs.


Wrexham v Sheff Utd

Wrexham will be without striker Chris Armstrong, who serves a one-match ban after he was sent off on Saturday.
Keeper Andy Dibble is ruled out with injury while Dennis Lawrence (ankle), Hector Sam (knee) and Steve Roberts (ankle) are all doubtful.

Paul Shaw has been recalled from his loan spell at Rotherham and he goes straight into the Blades squad.

But Ashley Ward (knee) and Jack Lester (shoulder) were both injured in Saturday's defeat by Wigan Athletic

Yeovil v Bolton

Yeovil midfielder Gavin Williams faces a late fitness test ahead of the Carling Cup encounter with Bolton after he missed Saturday's win over Oxford.
Andy Lindegaard (ankle), Scott Guyett (knee) and Adam Lockwood (knee) are still ruled out.

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce will ring the changes for the visit to Huish Park.

Andy Oakes is set to replace Jussi Jaaskelainen in goal while Julio Cesar, Fernando Hierro, Anthony Barness and Stelios Giannakopolous could all start.


Man City v Barnsley

Mikkel Bischoff and Bradley Wright-Phillips - brother of City team-mate Shaun - stand by to face the Tykes.
Boss Kevin Keegan must decide whether to rest some of his regulars but Steve McManaman (Achilles) and Trevor Sinclair (knee) are both still out.

Barnsley boss Paul Hart is confident that Stephen McPhail (groin) and Paul Reid (back) will recover in time.

But defender Matt Carbon is a major doubt after missing Saturday's win at Huddersfield with a pulled hamstring.

Mansfield v Preston

Mansfield boss Keith Curle is expected to keep faith with a winning team.
Curle, who has no injury concerns or suspension problems, is expected to name a side unchanged from that which beat Rochdale on Saturday.

Preston duo David Healy and Chris Lucketti miss out after suffering groin injuries in the defeat to Sunderland.

Claude Davis (hamstring), Marlon Broomes (ankle) are also missing, and Portsmouth say on-loan defender John Curtis cannot play.
