Ipswich v Stoke preview
Leaders Ipswich play host to Stoke, hoping to bounce back from their Boxing Day defeat to Millwall, live on Sky Sports 1.

Ipswich appeared to suffer a festive hangover as Millwall ran out 3-1 winners at The Den and manager Joe Royle will look for three points to get their promotion quest back on track.

Town are the top scorers in The Championship, while Stoke have the meanest defence so something must give on Tuesday.

Royle's side emerged without injury from their defeat at Millwall, but there is likely to be a change as Jim Magilton is set to come in after being rested on Boxing Day.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis has lamented his side's lack of firepower and is looking for reinforcements, but he will have to soldier on at Portman Road.

Pulis has a number of worries, as John Halls is struggling with a leg injury and could miss out, while Dave Brammer must pass a fitness test on a thigh complaint to figure.

Marcus Hall is not expected to play this side of the New Year, joining Gerry Taggart on the sidelines.

Burnley v Wigan preview
Burnley will go into their game with Wigan fresher than their Lancashire rivals as their Boxing Day clash with Crewe was claimed by the weather.

The Clarets go into the game on the back of a defeat to Sunderland, but prior to that they had won four of their last five.

Burnley chief Steve Cotterill will have to mastermind victory over The Latics without the suspended Frank Sinclair, which will likely leave Gary Cahill and John McGreal to fill the centre back berths.

Graham Branch and Tony Grant are hopeful of shaking off calf and hamstring problems respectively, but Jean-Louis Valois is likely to miss out after limping out of the defeat to Sunderland.

Wigan have stuttered of late and go into the game on the back of two successive defeats and manager Paul Jewell will be desperate to arrest the slide at Turf Moor.

Jewell's only absentee aside from long-term injury victim Per Frandsen is striker Jason Roberts who misses out through suspension, with Lee McCulloch and David Graham vying to partner Nathan Ellington up front.

Derby v Millwall preview
Two promotion challengers lock horns at Pride Park, as Derby play host to Millwall.

Both teams go into the game in fine form, with Derby having beaten Wigan on their last start and Millwall victorious over leaders Ipswich.

Rams chief George Burley is hoping to name an unchanged side against The Lions, but much will depend on whether defender Michael Johnson can shake off a calf niggle and a problem with the teeth he had operated on recently.

Tommy Smith is expected to overcome the effects of a virus, while Inigo Idiakez needs to shake off a back complaint to figure.

Millwall boss Dennis Wise is likely to be forced into shuffling his pack, as Paul Ifill and Darren Ward picked up ankle and Achilles injuries respectively against Ipswich.

Barry Hayles and Matt Lawrence are expected to come in for their injured team-mates.

Gillingham v Coventry preview
A relegation six-pointer takes place at The Priestfield on Tuesday, as Coventry travel to Gillingham.

The Gills are in the relegation spots at present, while Coventry are too close for comfort for Peter Reid's liking.

Gillingham boss Stan Ternent has been dealt a blow, as an injury crisis at Norwich has forced on-loan keeper Paul Gallacher to return to Carrow Road - with Steve Banks set to fill the void.

Consistent defender Chris Hope is also set to miss the visit of Coventry, as he picked up an ankle injury in the Boxing Day loss to Brighton.

Like Gillingham, Coventry come into the game on the back of a defeat and Reid is likely to shuffle his pack following the loss to Sheffield United.

"I'll be making changes for the Gillingham game," said Reid. "The games come that quick you've got to utilise the squad because it's very physically demanding."

Veteran defenders Richard Shaw and Steve Staunton were rested for the clash with The Blades and are expected to be restored to the team.

Leeds v Plymouth preview
Two mid-table sides meet at Elland Road on Tuesday, as Leeds host Plymouth.

Leeds made a fine start to their festive programme as they secured a stirring win at Sunderland and they will hope to repeat the dose against Plymouth.

Leeds go into the game without the services of John Oster and Jamie McMaster who have been suspended pending a club enquiry into an alleged incident at The Whites' Christmas party.

Sean Gregan and Simon Walton return from suspension to boost manager Kevin Blackwell's options.

Plymouth boss Bobby Williamson has no real injury worries to contend with, but will leave it late before selecting his side to face The Whites as Graham Coughlan misses out after being sent off against QPR on Boxing Day.

Forest v Sunderland preview
Andy Reid returns for Nottingham Forest against Sunderland on Tuesday.

Reid missed the Boxing Day defeat to West Ham through suspension, so should be champing at the bit for the visit of Sunderland.

Acting manager Mick Harford is still expected to be without injured troika Adam Nowland, Paul Evans and Matthieu Louis-Jean, while Gareth Taylor and Marlon King will have to pass the doctor in order to figure.

Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy has no fitness worries, but could shuffle his pack following the loss to Leeds.

Marcus Stewart and Stephen Elliott were on the bench against Leeds and will be desperate for the chance to start against struggling Forest, while midfielder Jeff Whitley is another player pressing for a recall.

Preston v Reading preview
Preston host high-flying Reading without a number of key defenders.

Callum Davidson and Marlon Broomes are expected to miss the next three weeks with hamstring injuries, news which has forced manager Billy Davies to shuffle his pack.

American winger Eddie Lewis played at left back against Stoke, but Graham Alexander could be asked to take on that role - with Chris Sedgwick set to return from suspension to ease the crisis.

Chris Lucketti may miss out due to family concerns and Davies has not ruled out the possibility of raiding the loan market on Tuesday morning.

Reading are making a good fist of booking a place in The Premiership, but they head to Deepdale with a number of injury concerns.

Midfielder James Harper came off late on in the win over Watford and must pass a fitness test on a muscle injury to figure.

Skipper Graeme Murty will be given every chance to prove he is over the knee injury that has kept him on the sidelines recently.

Manager Steve Coppell will see how Nicky Forster came out of the win over Watford, his first start in two months, before finalising his plans for Tuesday

QPR v Crewe preview
Queens Park Rangers have slipped off the play-off pace in recent weeks and will look to end a four-game losing run against Crewe on Tuesday.

Crewe make the trip south fresher than most, having seen their Boxing Day clash with Burnley called off due to a frozen pitch, and they will come up against an R's side lacking defensive options.

QPR manager Ian Holloway is already without Matthew Rose and Arthur Gnohere through injury and his problems were increased on Boxing Day when Georges Santos was sent off against Plymouth.

Defence is not the only area of concern for Holloway, as Jamie Cureton misses out through suspension.

Crewe chief Dario Gradi has no fresh injury concerns, and the loss of the Boxing Day fixture has handed Chris McGready (hamstring), Anthony Tonkin (foot) and Michael Higdon (back) extra time to prove their fitness.

Steve Jones is confident of shaking off a bout of sickness to take his place in attack, while Billy Jones is pressing for a recall.

Sheff Utd v Leicester preview
Sheffield United will look to continue their push for promotion when they host Leicester City at Bramall Lane.

The Blades came from a goal down to defeat Coventry City at Highfield Road on Boxing Day, with the club currently in the play-off positions.

Leicester travel to South Yorkshire still reeling from their shock 1-0 home defeat to bottom club Rotherham United on Sunday, with Foxes boss Craig Levein expecting a better performance against Neil Warnock's side.

Warnock has a dilemma in choosing who will start in goal on Tuesday, with Ian Bennett having deputised for Paddy Kenny.

Kenny's returns from a three-match suspension and is available for the midweek holiday season encounter.

Warnock is likely to leave his team selection until just before kick-off, with some players having picked up knocks at Coventry.

Levein is expected to make changes following their surprise defeat to The Millers, though on-loan Stuart Taylor is set to continue in Leicester's goal.

Defender Danny Tiatto is out with a fractured cheekbone, while centre back Matt Elliott is still not fit after recently having surgery on his knee.

Despite the pair's long-term absence, Levein has no other injury concerns

Watford v Cardiff preview
Watford will look for their first home win since August when they host struggling Cardiff City at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets last took three points in Hertfordshire in a 3-1 win over Plymouth Argyle back on August 28, but Ray Lewington's side will be smarting more from their Boxing Day defeat at high-flying Reading.

Watford went down 3-0 at The Madejski Stadium on Sunday and the result has prompted Lewington to consider a tactical switch for Tuesday's crucial encounter with the struggling Bluebirds.

Cardiff were held to a 1-1 draw by Wolves at Ninian Park on Boxing Day, with the South Wales side hovering just above the drop zone.

Lewington may push midfielder Paul Devlin into attack to play alongside Heidar Helguson, as Watford look for a fresh spark in attack.

That could see Ashley Young replacing Devlin on the right-hand side of midfield, with Bruce Dyer being sacrificed to the substitutes' bench.

The loan duo of Paul Jones and Johnnie Jackson should start again after making their debuts at Reading.

Cardiff will have midfielder Richard Langley available after the Jamaican international recently recovered from knee surgery.

He is expected to replace the injured Joe Ledley, who has back and groin problems, while Rhys Weston should deputise again for Darren Williams, who has flu.

Wolves v Brighton preview
Wolves will hope home advantage will allow them to earn three important points against struggling Brighton & Hove Albion.

Glenn Hoddle's side needed a second half Kenny Miller strike to earn a point against another struggling side in Cardiff City on Boxing Day.

With the Black Country club still languishing in the bottom half of the Championship table, Hoddle will want a brighter start at Molineux on Tuesday.

The Seagulls will travel to the West Midlands buoyed by a crucial 2-1 home win over local rivals Gillingham on Boxing Day, as Mark McGhee's side aim to pull further away from the bottom three.

Wolves have no serious injury concerns following Sunday's draw in South Wales, though Hoddle may consider changes to keep his side fresh for Tuesday.

Brighton should have striker Leon Knight back after suspension for five yellow cards, though the trio of Gary Hart, Adam Virgo and Mark McCammon performed well in attack against The Gills.
----------------------
Newcastle v Arsenal

Newcastle have striker problems, with Alan Shearer out and Patrick Kluivert and Shola Ameobi both struggling.

Darren Ambrose (hamstring) is also doubtful and Stephen Carr, Ronny Johnsen and Nicky Butt are out but Lee Bowyer returns from suspension.

Arsenal welcome back Ashley Cole after he was suspended for the Boxing Day win over Fulham, and Edu may also return.

Jermaine Pennant and Philippe Senderos will travel with the squad and Manuel Almunia is set to keep his place.

Aston Villa v Man Utd

Mark Delaney has joined Aston Villa's injury list after suffering a groin strain at Chelsea on Sunday.

Liam Ridgewell and Mathieu Berson are set to keep their places, and the on-loan Carlton Cole is available after missing the game against Chelsea.

Gary Neville and Eric Djemba-Djemba miss out for Manchester United as they are both recovering from flu.

Paul Scholes is likely to return to the starting XI, probably at the expense of Cristiano Ronaldo or Darren Fletcher

Fulham v Birmingham

Fulham face a wait on the fitness of Luis Boa Morte, who has foot and hamstring injuries.

Steed Malbranque and Sylvain Legwinski could return to the squad after being rested over the weekend.

Darren Anderton and Stephen Clemence are in contention to replace David Dunn who misses out for Birmingham.

Emile Heskey could also miss out with a tight hamstring, so the in-form Clinton Morrison may start up front on his own after scoring four in four games.

Bolton v Blackburn

Bolton will make changes for the Lancashire derby after a run of five straight losses saw them slide down the Premiership table.

Club captain Jay-Jay Okocha, Bruno N'Gotty and Stelios Giannakopoulos could all return to the starting XI.

Blackburn's Steven Reid is doubtful after suffering a kick above the ankle so David Thompson may deputise.

Boss Mark Hughes is likely to stick with Jonathan Stead up front alongside Paul Dickov

Charlton v Everton

Charlton boss Alan Curbishley looks likely to stick with the team that drew at Southampton to extend their unbeaten run to four games.

Former Evertonian Graham Stuart may be involved but Francis Jeffers could miss out, and Mark Fish may have to wait to make his return despite being fit.

Leon Osman is definitely out for Everton with an on-going knee injury.

Thomas Gravesen and Marcus Bent are doubts after picking up knocks in Sunday's win over Manchester City

Portsmouth v Chelsea

Pompey hope to have Gary O'Neil back after he missed the Boxing Day win over Crystal Palace with a back injury.

Dejan Stefanovic, David Unsworth and Lomana LuaLua are absent but Shaka Hislop is likely to retain his place.

Chelsea's William Gallas could miss the trip after suffering a knock against Aston Villa, so his place could go to Ricardo Carvalho.

There are unlikely to be other changes with Celestine Babayaro, Robert Huth and Scott Parker all still missing

Tottenham v C Palace

Thimothee Atouba is a doubt for Tottenham after injuring his foot in the win over Norwich.

Jermain Defoe and Anthony Gardner may both start after being on the bench on Sunday, but Simon Davies (virus) and Sean Davis (knee) are still missing.

Palace have doubts over left-winger Joonas Kolkka after he suffered a rib injury against Portsmouth.

Emmerson Boyce was rested for that game but replacement Danny Butterfield may have done enough to retain his place

Liverpool v Southampton

Harry Kewell and Neil Mellor should return for Liverpool after injury and illness kept them out of Sunday's rout of West Brom.

Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia are likely to start as the squad is rotated.

Struggling Southampton may sacrifice striker Peter Crouch to make room for Anders Svensson in a revamped midfield.

Jason Dodd and Mikael Nilsson are injury doubts and James Beattie may make his final appearance for the club but Martin Cranie is set to play again.

Man City v West Brom

Joey Barton could return to the Manchester City line-up as Kevin Keegan changes things around after their loss at Everton on Sunday.

Jon Macken may be the man to make way and Christian Negouai is suspended, but Danny Mills' ban does not start yet and Ben Thatcher may be fit to play.

West Brom may welcome back Kanu after he missed Sunday's thrashing by Liverpool with a virus.

Cosmin Contra is suspended and Darren Moore is doubtful with a knee injury.

Middlesbrough v Norwich

Joseph-Desire Job could start alongside Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink up front for Middlesbrough after Mark Viduka injured a hamstring against Birmingham.

Mark Wilson and Andrew Davies could be added to their injury-depleted squad.

Youngsters Rossi Jarvis, Adam Smith and Danny Crow are included in Norwich's squad as Simon Charlton, Youssef Safri and Mattias Jonson are all injured.

Phil Mulryne, Paul McVeigh and Adam Drury may return to the team and keeper Paul Gallacher could be on the bench.
--------------------
Barnsley v Stockport
Barnsley manager Paul Hart will have a fully fit squad to choose from for the visit of Stockport.
Midfielder Stephen McPhail has recovered from a stomach complaint while Tom Williams, Michael Boulding and Jacob Burns are all fit again.

Stockport will again be without Jim Goodwin, who is suspended.

Midfielder Lee Cartwright is again ruled out with a thigh injury but boss Stockport Chris Turner is hopeful Mark Robertson (thigh) will be fit.

Bournemouth v Huddersfield
Bournemouth return to action after Boxing Day's match at Colchester was postponed because of a frozen pitch.
Strikers Derek Holmes (illness) and Steve Fletcher (family reasons) both missed the Cherries' last game, against Swindon, but should be available.

Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson will be boosted by the return of Lee Fowler from suspension.

Striker Andy Booth (ankle) is out, while defender Steve Yates is available again after injury.

Torquay v Bradford
Torquay United welcome back Brian McGlinchey after a one-game ban but are without Craig Taylor because of suspension.
Loan signings Paul Robinson and Craig Woodman plus midfielder Jamie Gosling are set for first home starts.

Bradford will be without the services of leading scorer Dean Windass, due to a suspension.

Paul Tierney, who is on loan from Manchester United, could be handed his debut against the Gulls.

Swindon v Brentford
Swindon boss Andy King will make late checks on three or four unnamed players ahead of the home clash with Brentford.
Midfielder Brian Howard returns after suspension but Grant Smith is still banned and Stefani Miglioranzi lacks match fitness.

Brentford boss Martin Allen has no fresh injury problems after the 3-1 home defeat by Torquay.

Chris Hargreaves has been struggling with a leg injury but could be in line for recall to the Bees' midfield.

Bristol City v Hartlepool
Bristol City could welcome back Tommy Doherty and Stephen Brooker after illness, while Scott Brown and Steven Gillespie are also back in contention.
Defender Matt Hill (stomach) could also be back, while player-boss Brian Tinnion could start on the bench.

Hartlepool are hoping to have defender Ben Clark (ankle/chest) available.

Midfielder Darrell Clarke is continuing his recovery from a knee injury and could return at some point over the Christmas period.

Wrexham v Chesterfield
Wrexham hope Scott Green can overcome a groin strain he picked up in training.
They will still be without centre-back Brian Carey and wing-backs Carlos Edwards and Dean Bennett, who are all on the long-term injured list.

Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland is sweating on the fitness of Alex Bailey ahead of the trip to Wrexham.

Otherwise, McFarland will select from the same squad who lost to Luton, with Kevin Dawson (leg) and Mark DeBolla (ankle) still some way from a return

Luton v Colchester
Top scorer Steve Howard should return for Luton's home meeting with Colchester following suspension.
Fellow striker Rowan Vine is available again after a one-match ban, while midfielder Steve Robinson (hernia operation) could also feature.

New signing Neil Danns is likely to be involved for Colchester as they travel to Kenilworth Road.

Kem Izzet (ankle) is still out, while fellow midfielder Karl Duguid (knee) will not be back until the new year.

Oldham v Peterborough
Oldham manager Brian Talbot will be sweating over the fitness of top scorer Chris Killen (groin).
Jermaine Johnson has a long-term knee injury but could be back by February, instead of the three months that was originally expected.

Peterborough defender Chris Plummer is in contention to return to the side.

He sat out their Boxing Day game after failing to shake off a shin injury and he will be given until the last minute to declare himself fit.

Port Vale v Sheffield Wednesday
Port Vale boss Martin Foyle will be without winger Ian Armstrong (stomach) against Sheffield Wednesday.
Levi Reid could play after shrugging off a groin strain, while Mark Goodlad could start after a thigh problem.

Sheffield Wednesday are hopeful striker Kenwyne Jones will be fit despite suffering from bruised toes.

Patrick Collins is still doubtful with a hamstring strain, while Lee Peacock (ankle) and striker Guylain Ndumbu (stomach bug) will both miss out.

Walsall v Tranmere
Walsall's Julian Bennett is available after a one-game ban, but Ian Roper and Matty Fryatt (both knee) are out.
Ryan Willetts (ankle) is out but Neil Emblen is expected to soldier on despite a neck problem.

Tranmere's Gareth Roberts should be fit despite an ankle knock, while Gary Jones may return after a groin problem.

Keeper John Achteberg is sidelined with a knee ligament injury, while Congolese striker Calvin Zola may again miss out due to problems with his UK residency.
-----------------
Swansea v Boston
Swansea are without Andy Gurney, who begins a suspension that will rule him out for the rest of the festive period.
Brad Maylett (hernia), James Thomas (knee) and Leon Hylton (groin) remain on the sidelines while centre-back Garry Monk is also suspended.

Boston will be without Mark Greaves, who serves a suspension after picking up five yellow cards this season.

However, a number of first-team players have recovered from a bout of flu which affected the club before Christmas

Cheltenham v Bristol Rovers
Cheltenham team news will appear here.
Bristol Rovers are without the banned Robbie Ryan and with deputy left-back Aaron Lescott doubtful, midfielder Paul Trollope could fill in.

Ali Gibb and John Anderson could return to the starting line-up but Craig Disley and Richard Walker are doubtful.

Northampton v Bury
Northampton's Fred Murray is struggling with an ankle injury and will face a late fitness test, but Chris Willmott is likely to return after a ban.
Martin Smith is back in contention after a knee problem.

Bury will be without Danny Swailes and Colin Woodthorpe because the game against Shrewsbury, when their bans would have been served, was called off.

Keeper Glynn Garner's knee operation rules him out but Dwayne Mattis returns to the squad after suspension

Cambridge v Yeovil
Cambridge will stick with the same squad that made the trip to Mansfield - only for the game to be called off.
That means defender Dan Gleeson will again be hoping for a recall to the starting XI after shaking off illness.

Yeovil Town are unlikely to change their winning line-up for the trip to Cambridge United.

Striker Phil Jevons took his tally to 15 goals as Yeovil closed the gap on leaders Scunthorpe to five points with a 4-1 home win over Cheltenham.

Rochdale v Chester
Rochdale boss Steve Parkin will be boosted by the return of Paul Tait from suspension for the visit of Chester.
His replacement against Darlington Taiwo Atieno has a leg injury.

Chester boss Ian Rush is sweating on the fitness of keeper Wayne Brown, who was substituted in the second half of the 1-1 draw against Scunthorpe.

Chris Mackenzie will deputise if the first-choice stopper does not make it, while Richard Hope, Darren Edmondson and Darryn Stamp (thigh) are ruled out.

Shrewsbury v Darlington
Shrewsbury's Ryan Lowe and Luke Rodgers face late fitness tests ahead of their clash with Mansfield.
Martin O'Connor and Darren Moss are still suspended, while Sam Aiston is expected to start on the left side of midfield in place of Neil Ashton.

Darlington's Neil Maddison should return after he was rested following an Achilles problem.

The Quakers are still without long-term injury victims Craig Liddle (hernia) and David McGurk (knee

Lincoln v Grimsby
Lincoln team news will appear here.
Grimsby's new signing Martin Gritton is set to continue up front, although he could be joined by Michael Reddy.

John McDermott is still suffering from a virus but should figure, while Thomas Pinault is pressing for a recall.

Oxford v Kidderminster
Oxford are without the suspended Tommy Mooney, but Steve Basham is ready to deputise after a knee injury.
Lee Bradbury is also in contention to replace Mooney with Paul Wanless or Mark E'Beyer coming into midfield.

Kidderminster are expected to recall Simon Weaver and Dean Keates after one-game suspensions, but captain Wayne Hatswell is still banned.

Iyseden Christie (foot) and Reuben Hazell (knee surgery) are still out but John Danby (broken toe) could return

Leyton Orient v Rushden
Leyton Orient strikers Gary Alexander and Lee Steele look set to miss the next two weeks with niggling ankle and knee problems respectively.
Mark Peters (foot) and Stuart Wardley (leg) will also be missing as the Os aim for their first win in December.

Rushden will be without Gary Mulligan, who is struggling with a groin injury.

Andy Sambrook will be given a late fitness test after taking a knock to his ankle, while Rob Gier was a slight but he has been declared fit.

Macclesfield v Wycombe
Macclesfield duo Andrew Teague and Alan Navarro are hoping to shake off knocks.
Steve Payne (knee), Mark Bailey (ankle) and Tony Barras (Achilles) are out so on-loan defender Greg Strong could continue at the heart of the back four.

Wycombe manager John Gorman has no fresh injury problems ahead of his side's clash with Macclesfield.

On-loan Southend striker Drewe Broughton was ineligible for Boxing Day but could return to the starting line-up, as could Clint Easton.

Southend v Mansfield
Caretaker Mansfield boss Carlton Palmer has no fresh injury worries ahead of the Southend match.
But on-loan Bolton defender Jason Talbot is struggling for fitness with a toe infection.

Southend's Duncan Jupp is still struggling with a badly gashed leg and looks likely to miss out again while Jay Smith remains a long-term absentee.

Goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan pushing for a place in the starting line-up after returning from a badly damaged heel.

Scunthorpe v Notts County
Scunthorpe could welcome back Richard Kell from the illness that kept him out of the Boxing Day draw at Chester.
Nathan Stanton is pushing to start at right back after replacing Cliff Byrne three times recently.

Notts County's postponement on Boxing Day has increased Rob Ullathorne's chances of making a comeback following a groin injury.

Centre-half Julian Baudet is also set to feature after a calf strain but Glynn Hurst is suspended.
