Tracy McGrady was just about all the Rockets needed to get back winning again. Houston has won two of three since he returned from a lower back injury. In the three games since McGrady's return, the Rockets have averaged 101 points, which is a clear progress. T-Mac itself has averaged 39.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists while the Rockets' offense has improved dramatically. Also the supporting cast, especially Juwan Howard, Rafer Alston and David Wesley are finally providing some necessary boost.
The Bobcats have once again fallen on hard times. They have lost nine of their last ten games, including the 76-104 setback at San Antonio last night. They have five injured players in all, including three starters (leading scorer Gerald Wallace, Emeka Okafor and Kareem Rush) and two key reserves Keith Bogans and Sean May. With all of these guys being out has left the team in somehow hopeless situation. Playing a road-and-road back-to-back game isn`t helping them either as the Cats simply have no meat to throw against the rising Rockets tonight.
The Rockets boosted their confidence by blowing out the Bucks on Monday and we see nice momentum and fresher legs in their favour to repeat this kind of performance also tonight. Houston hasn't won a home game since Dec. 6, but now with T-Mac back in business, they will put the pressure on the injury-riddled Bobcats right from the start and take the long-awaited home victory on their way. Medium stakes.
